Book Scanning

With the latest advances in both scanning and printing technologies it is now possible to create electronic copies of old books that can be printed on demand in whatever quantities are required. If it is not possible to sacrifice the original by guillotining the spine, we have sophisticated in-house systems that can scan the pages of an open book, correct the image to allow for the curvature of the page and format it for printing as a new book.

Alternatively the pages can be converted into a format suitable for electronic publishing, for instance as a searchable PDF. In this way books that are out of print can enjoy new life and valuable works that are contained in archives can be seen by the general public without fear of damage. This also ensures that a copy of the original exists in case of fire or accident.

The same applies to a wide variety of bound documents where they are old and only one copy is available. Technical manuals, journals, academic works, financial ledgers, council and parish records are all examples of documents that can now be digitised without damage and where a perfect image of the page is produced whether in black and white or fantastic full colour.
